BWG S1EP2(Part 1): Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola
Bilikiss is the co-founder of Wecyclers and was recently appointed by the Lagos state Government to head a parastatal (LASPARK). Her company, Wecyclers, promotes community health by utilizing low-cost cargo bicycles called “wecycles” to provide convenient recycling services to households in densely populated low-income neighborhoods. Since 2012, Wecyclers has registered over 15,000 households and diverted over 3,000 metric tons of recyclable materials from landfills into productive reuse in Lagos, Nigeria. Wecyclers has also created over 100 jobs and rewarded subscribers with over $75,000 As a result of her success at disrupting the waste management sector in Nigeria, Bilikiss has advised the Government on various matters and was recently appointed as General manager of LASPARK.
